Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago Sign Air Services Agreement for Connectivity

President John Dramani Mahama has announced the signing of an Air Services Agreement between Ghana and Trinidad and Tobago to strengthen air connectivity between the two countries.

President Mahama made the announcement in a Facebook post after meeting with Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, S.C. of Trinidad and Tobago in New York on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly.

According to the President, the agreement will create new opportunities for cooperation between Ghana and Trinidad and Tobago.

“I met with Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, S.C. of Trinidad and Tobago in New York. We signed an Air Services Agreement between Ghana and Trinidad and Tobago.

“This agreement strengthens air connectivity and creates new opportunities for cooperation between our countries,” President Mahama wrote.

He said the two leaders also discussed updates to the reparations agenda, as well as trade and investment opportunities.

The agreement is expected to pave the way for direct flights and enhanced economic ties between West Africa and the Caribbean.
