A/R: Cable and Network Faults Causing Power Outages- ECG

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has cited network and cable faults for Sunday’s power outage in parts of the Ashanti Region.

In a first notice, it explained that the major outage was as a result of an underground cable fault at the Ridge Bulk Supply Point in Kumasi near the Georgia Hotel.

This affected areas including Bohyen, Twedie, Foase, Boko, Manso Nkwanta, Nweneso, Adoato, Abrepo, Ampabame, Parts of Kaase, Asafo, Tafo, Ahenbronom, GNTC, Tafo Nhyiaeso, Zongo, Tetrem, Offinso, Boamang, Fankyenabra, Santasi, Anyinam, Yabi, Aburaso and Kromoase.

It also affected Akyeremade, Agric Nzema, Takyiman Mmerewadwa, Kokoben, Ohwimase, Patasi, Mango Down, Edwinase, Asare Farms, Nimo, Kwadaso, Ampatia, Apire, Heman, Darko, Bebu, Ampabame No.2, Mpatasie, Trede and surrounding areas.

In two separate notices, it said faults in the network caused power outages at Koniyaw and surrounding areas, as well as Bosore and surrounding areas.

ECG assured affected customers that its engineers are working to rectify the faults and restore power supply.
