NDPC to Track, Assess Implementation of New Economy Programme – Finance Minister

The National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) will play a critical role in tracking progress and assessing the implementation of the government’s New Economy programme.

The Minister for Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, disclosed this after a meeting with the Commission in Accra on Monday.

The meeting, led by the Chairman of the NDPC, Dr Nii Moi Thompson, discussed how to roll out and monitor the New Economy programme.

In a Facebook post after the engagement, Dr Forson said the Commission will be central to ensuring effective tracking and evaluation of the programme.

He emphasised that while the government has achieved some level of economic stability, that is only the beginning of a broader transformation agenda.

“Stability is only the beginning. Our goal is to create jobs, build an economy powered by what Ghana produces and ensure prosperity for all!” he stated.

The New Economy programme is expected to anchor the government’s strategy of building a production-led economy and delivering inclusive prosperity for Ghanaians.
