BOST Energies Pays First-Ever Dividend to Government

BOST Energies Limited Company (BOSTenergies) has paid its first-ever dividend to the Government of Ghana after reporting strong financial and operational growth for the 2025 financial year, 33 years after its establishment.
The performance was announced at the Company’s 2026 Annual General Meeting held on Tuesday, September 2, 2026 in Accra, where the shareholder, the Board of Directors, Management and other stakeholders reviewed the Company’s performance for the 2025 financial year.
According to the Company, the 2025 financial year marked a defining period in its transformation, with substantial growth across key financial indicators.
It recorded GH¢3.81 billion in revenue representing a 195 percent year-on-year growth, GH¢683.96 million in Profit After Tax reflecting a 72 percent year-on-year increase, GH¢3.99 billion in total assets representing 50 percent growth, and GH¢1.47 billion in shareholder equity which more than doubled over the period.
The Company also achieved a 28 per cent reduction in administrative expenses, demonstrating its continued focus on cost discipline and operational efficiency.
A major highlight of the year was the payment of BOSTenergies’ first-ever dividend to the Government of Ghana.
The Company paid 5 percent of its net profit as dividend, amounting to GH¢34.2 million, marking a significant milestone in its journey towards delivering greater value to Government.
The Company said the dividend payment reflects its improved financial position and reinforces its commitment to prudent financial management, accountability and sustainable shareholder value creation.
Commenting on the performance, Managing Director of BOSTenergies, Mr Afetsi Awoonor, said 2025 was a defining year for the Company.
He said the Company delivered strong financial growth, strengthened its balance sheet and achieved the significant milestone of declaring its first-ever dividend to the Government of Ghana, noting that the achievements demonstrate what is possible when commercial discipline, prudent financial management and operational efficiency are combined.
Looking ahead, BOSTenergies said it will remain focused on strengthening its operations, driving efficiency, building resilience and creating lasting value for its shareholder and stakeholders.
The Company said it will continue to leverage its strategic infrastructure, commercial capabilities and evolving energy portfolio to support Ghana’s energy security while positioning itself to respond effectively to the changing energy landscape.
Mr Awoonor reaffirmed the Company’s commitment to sustainable growth and its critical role in Ghana’s downstream energy sector, stressing that the focus remains on strengthening operations and ensuring Ghana’s energy security while positioning the Company for sustainable growth and long-term relevance.
The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Hon. Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, praised the Board, Management and staff of BOSTenergies for delivering a masterclass performance in financial growth and profitability, operational efficiency and portfolio growth of almost threefold.
He pledged his unflinching support to the Board and management and charged them to remain steadfast and build on the achievements attained.
The Director General of SIGA, Prof Michael Kpesah Whyte, welcomed the positive turnaround at BOSTenergies including its first dividend payment in its history and urged the Board and Management to remain on track to achieve bigger growth and deliver value to government.
