Asantehene Engages U.S. Chamber of Commerce
The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has engaged the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as part of his working visit to the country.
The meeting took place in Washington, D.C., on August 31, 2026 and brought together prominent diplomatic figures, corporate executives, and distinguished public policy experts representing American and international business interests.
Accompanying the Asantehene were prominent traditional rulers including Nana Otuo Siriboe II, Juabenhene; Nana Effah Apenteng, Bompatahene; Nana Prof. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei Woahene II, Otumfuo Hiahene; and Victor Smith, Ghana’s Ambassador to the U.S.
Key participants included Kendra Gaither and Guevera Yao representing the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, veteran diplomats Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, former U.S. Ambassador to the UN, and Ambassador Dr Jendayi Frazer of 50 Ventures.
Others included Kwabena Osei-Sarpong of RIFE International, Dr Adjoa B. Asamoah of ABA Consulting, Sarah Brenholt of Cargill, Michael Coyle of Peak Global Partners, and Victor Swami of Areva Pharmaceuticals.
The closed-door engagement was intended to position Asanteman and Ghana as prime destinations for American investment.
By engaging directly with top corporate players, the Asantehene targets key growth sectors including agribusiness, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, and retail development.
