Ghana Shippers’ Authority Records 271% Surge in Net Surplus in 2025
The Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA) recorded a significant increase in its net surplus in the 2025 financial year, rising by 271.52% to GH¢258.30 million from GH¢69.52 million in 2024.
The figures are contained in the 2025 State Ownership Report by the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA).
According to the report, the GSA’s total income increased to GH¢380.15 million in 2025, while its total assets rose to GH¢979.92 million.
The authority’s accumulated fund also stood at GH¢810.46 million during the year.
The increase in net surplus represents a significant improvement over the GSA’s 2024 performance, when it recorded GH¢69.52 million in surplus on total revenue of GH¢191.76 million, according to the 2024 SIGA State Ownership Report.
The 2025 figures indicate a substantial improvement in the authority’s financial position, with the reported surplus margin increasing to 67.95%, compared with 36.25% in 2024.
The performance comes as the GSA under the leadership of Professor Ransford Gyampo continues its mandate of protecting and promoting the interests of shippers and supporting efficiency within Ghana’s maritime and trade logistics sector.
The authority’s total assets of GH¢979.92 million place its balance sheet close to the GH¢1 billion mark.
The reported financial performance highlights the GSA’s stronger surplus position in 2025 and adds to the broader assessment of the financial performance of Ghana’s state-owned entities contained in SIGA’s annual State Ownership Report.
