NPP Can Win All Ashanti Seats In 2028 With Strategies That Gave Me Highest Votes — Kingsley Kyeretwie

NPP Ashanti Regional Deputy Secretary, Kingsley Bonsu Kyeretwie Esq, has expressed confidence that the party can reclaim all parliamentary seats in the Ashanti Region in the 2028 elections, following strategies he believes helped him secure the highest number of votes in the party’s recent election.

Speaking in an interview with Kofi Boakye on Nkwantannanso on Opemsuo Radio, Mr Kyeretwie said the measures he put in place contributed to his strong performance and could be replicated across the region to help the NPP win back constituencies lost to the NDC.

He said the strategies were not difficult to implement and could help the party reconnect with voters who stayed away from the polls in the last election.

“In the election we had last Saturday, I recorded the highest number of votes across all the positions in the Ashanti Region and nationwide. There are certain things I did that contributed to those votes, and if we implement those measures across the Ashanti Region, we will take back our seats,” he said.

Mr Kyeretwie said the NPP’s return to power in the region would depend largely on understanding why some of its supporters did not vote in the previous election and addressing their concerns.

According to him, some of the constituencies the NDC won were not necessarily taken because voters had switched their allegiance to the party, but because some NPP supporters stayed away from the polls.

“It is not necessarily that those voters like the NDC. Rather, some of them did not go to vote, and that contributed to the NDC’s victory. They have their reasons for not voting, and we are going to address and resolve those issues to win back power,” he stated.

He maintained that if the strategies that contributed to his high vote count are applied across the Ashanti Region, the NPP could reclaim all the parliamentary seats it lost.

Mr Kyeretwie, however, identified the Asuase Constituency as the seat he believes the NDC could possibly retain in 2028, although he added that the NPP could still win it if it effectively applies its strategies.

“The only seat the NDC can possibly maintain, and perhaps NPP might even take, is the Asuase Constituency,” he said.

He said the party must therefore use the period ahead of the 2028 elections to engage voters, understand their concerns and rebuild the support base needed to regain the seats.
