Two Suspects Shot Dead in Foiled Robbery at GCB Bank Branch
The Ghana Police Service has reported a foiled robbery attempt at the GCB Bank branch in Labone, AccIn a statement, the Police said two suspects were gunned down during the operation while one suspect was arrested.
According to the Service, officers responded swiftly to a distress call and engaged the robbers, preventing them from gaining access to the bank’s cash and valuables.
No casualties were reported among bank staff or customers. The arrested suspect is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
The Police have since intensified security around financial institutions in Accra and urged the public to remain calm but vigilant, and to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
It assured that further details will be communicated as investigations progress.
