GPHA Engages Freight Forwarders on Measures to Boost Port Efficiency and Cargo Flow

The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) has stepped up collaboration with industry players to improve operational efficiency and ensure seamless cargo movement through the country’s ports.

As part of the effort, the Director General of GPHA, Major General Paul Seidu Tanye-Kulono, met with freight forwarders and other key stakeholders on Tuesday to discuss practical and sustainable measures for improving port operations.

Addressing the meeting, Major General Tanye-Kulono highlighted a number of initiatives already being pursued by the Port Authority to promote efficiency, address operational challenges and support the smooth movement of cargo through the ports.

Stakeholders at the meeting welcomed the engagement and commended GPHA management for opening dialogue with industry players.

They pledged their maximum support to help achieve a more efficient port operating environment.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ghana Shippers’ Authority, Meridian Port Services, Ghana Institute of Freight Forwarders, Association of Customs House Agents Ghana, Customs Brokers Association of Ghana and Freight Forwarders Association of Ghana.
