2026 WCQ: Play With Purpose – Sports Minister to Black Stars

The Minister for Youth and Sports, Kofi Adams, has encouraged members of the senior national team to give their all in the World Cup qualifying game against Chad.
In a goodwill message conveyed on September 4, he assured the team of the government’s unflinching support.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Ghana, I urge you to play with purpose, defend with pride, and attack with courage.”
He reminded the players and the technical team that the match was an opportunity to lift the flag of Ghana high and highlight the spirit, talent, and resilience that define Ghanaian football.
“You carry with you the pride of over 30 million Ghanaians. From every corner of this country and among our diaspora worldwide, the nation stands firmly behind you. Know that as you walk onto that field, you do so not as individuals, but as a united force representing a nation hungry for glory and ready to rally behind its heroes. Let your focus remain clear, your hearts full, and your commitment to the badge unshaken.”
This fixture is scheduled to kick off at 2:00 pm (1:00 pm in Accra) at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
