2025 Will Be a Prosperous Year For Otumfuo- Presbyterian Church
The Presbyterian Church has prophesied fruitfulness, prosperity, grace, and all good things over both the kingdom and the family of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene.
In a message delivered by Rev J.H Ofosuhene, the King was assured of a better year with reference to Isaiah 41:10.
“We have prayed for Otumfuo, his wife and children and this year will be prosperous for him. God says we should tell you that do not fear for He is with you. Do not be dismayed for He is your God. He will strengthen you, help you and uphold you. He will bring blessings to this nation through you and Asanteman will be at peace. Long live the King.”
Presby-Manhyia New Year Tradition
The visit to Manhyia Place was on January 1, 2025, New Year’s Day- a day set aside for a prayer service in the Palace led by the Church annually.
It, however, coincided with the first Awukuade Festival of the Year, making it impossible to take place.
“Each year, on the first day of every year, the Presbyterian Church joins Otumfuo for a church service at the Manhyia Palace. It’s a tradition the King has instituted. This year, we were looking forward to that so all our members could come to pray for Otumfuo but it coincided with the Awukudae Festival and we know when it happens this way, Otumfuo gets busy.”
That notwithstanding, it was disclosed that a service had earlier in the day been held for King, the Queen, the kingdom and the King’s family.
“We convened in our church and prayed for Otumfuo, Asantehemaa, traditional authorities and the whole of Asanteman for health and life,” the delegation made up of Presbyterian pastors and their wives said through Rev J.H Ofosuhene.
Gratitude
The Church used the occasion to express its heartfelt appreciation to the King for delegating a representative at their choir event late last year.
“Our church choir met at the KNUST. We invited Otumfuo and he was duly represented. We had to come and thank him.”
Donation
It also presented a cheque of ¢100,000 in support of the Heal Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital project, spearheaded by the wise Monarch to give a facelift to the 70-year-old health facility which is in dire need of a renovation.
“Otumfuo has highlighted the deterioration of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and spearheaded funds mobilisation to heal it. When we met in the Ashanti Region we decided to come together and donate the little we have. ¢100,000 is our donation to support the hospital’s renovation.”
Prayer
Before leaving the Palace, Rev Benson Osafo Kantanka said a prayer for the King.
