2025 AFCONQ: 6 Players Handed Late Call-ups By Otto Addo

Six players have received late call-ups from head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo after eight declined their call-ups for international duty.

They are Osman Bukari (Austin FC), Ransford Yeboah Koningsdorffer (Hamburger SV), Forson Amankwah (Norwich City), Terry Yegbe (IF Elfsborg), Ebenezer Annan (OFK Beograd) and Kingsley Schindler (Samsunspor).

They will join the Black Stars ahead of crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

They replace Joseph Paintsil, Antoine Semenyo, Ibrahim Osman, Tariq Lamptey, Jerome Opoku, and Inaki Williams.

After opening camp on Sunday the team will kick off training today at 5 pm at the Accra Sports Stadium ahead of their crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Group F qualifier against Angola on Friday.

The first training, according to a schedule by the Ghana Football Association (GFA), will be open to the media; however, subsequent training on Tuesday will be done off camera.

The team will leave the country for Angloa on November 13. In Luanda, they will undertake one training session on November 14 before they take on the Group F leaders on November 15 at the Estadio 11 de Novembro.

They will then return to Ghana to face Niger in the final game to conclude the qualifiers on November 18.

Ghana have not won in any of the last four qualifiers played. They suffered a 1-0 home defeat in their first game; a 1-1 home draw against Niger; a 0-0 draw against Sudan; and a 2-0 loss to Sudan.

Addo’s side is currently on the verge of not qualifying for the AFCON for the first time in 20 years but the coach says he is bent on preying on the little chance left to salvage the situation.

They hold two points from the four games.
