2025 AFCON Qualifiers: Otto Addo Names Squad
Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has named 23 players for the Niger and Angola qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
Only one Ghana Premier League (GPL) player made it on the list that was put on Thursday, August 29, 2024, exactly a week to Ghana’s opener at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
He composed a list of three goalkeepers, eight defenders, five midfielders and seven forwards.
Ghana are drawn in Group F together with Angola, Sudan and Niger. They play their opening game at home against Angola on September 5 before a trip to Niger for their second game.
Though Ghana rank above all these nations on paper, Coach Addo doesn’t appear complacent about the paperwork as he observes that all three have proven in recent displays to be better and a force to reckon with on the field.
However, he is confident Ghana will sail through and qualify for the tournament.
