2 Granted Bail After Operating A Food Joint At Pokuase Interchange
A 60 year old father, Kwame Addo and his 32 year old daughter, Comfort Dartey have been granted bail after being arrested for operating a food joint along a pavement around the newly constructed Pokuase Interchange.
They were arrested after a video of them went viral on social media.
According to DSP Juliana Obeng, the Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, the two were arrested on the grounds of causing public nuisance.
She noted that they have been cautioned and granted bail.
She denied reports that the woman operating the food joint there had absconded, noting that it was a father and daughter business and added that investigations are still on-going.
She revealed that customers of the joint may be treated as accomplices if need be.
“Any other person who will be connected one way or the other in this particular crime (will be arrested). Eaters might be treated as accomplices if the need be”, DSP Juliana said on Eyewitness news.
The four-tier Pokuase Interchange, the first of its kind in West Africa was inaugurated in July, 2021 at the cost of $83million.
