15 Years & Above To Get COVID Jabs Soon
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the vaccination of persons aged 15 years and above with the Pfizer BioNTech COVID19 vaccine soon.
The notice that came over the weekend, however, failed to communicate the exact date to begin the exercise among the school children.
The statement indicated that the jabs will commence as soon as possible.
The decision to vaccinate the age group follows the approval of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA).
“According to the Ghana Health Service, the Food and Drugs Authority has granted approval for extending the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines to cover children 15 years and above.
“We are by this letter, requesting all Regional and District Directors of Education to work closely with their colleague Regional and District Directors of Health to facilitate the vaccination of all 15 years or above in schools across the country.”
The exercise, according to GES, is meant to boost the level of protection in children within the selected age bracket.
