12 Arrested Over Clashes In Chereponi A Month Ago

Twelve persons have been arrested by the North East Regional Police Command over a clash that occurred on July 25, 2022, at Gbalo and Kukpong/Sagong communities in Chereponi in the North East region.

The suspects were arrested on August 24, 2022, the police said in a press release.

They are: Sulemana Mumuni, Salifu Abdulai, Sulemana Seidu, Alidu Makaila, Adam Naaba, Alhassan Nasona, Yakubu Ibn Mohammed, Bawah Salisu, Imoro Bomah, Imoro Karim, Adam Nasona and Abdulai Yussif.

The police recount that the clashes resulted in the burning down of sixteen houses as well as livestock.

The suspects will be arraigned before a court today, August 25, 2022.
