1 Perish In Car Crash At Suame Round-About
One person has died in a car crash at Suame in Ashanti region.
The incident, according to a report filed by Opemsuo radio’s Kwame Adu Gyamfi Kumanin, occurred on Thursday (January 26, 2023) dawn.
Two others sustained injuries.
The accident transpired when a minibus with registration number AS 3987- 13 failed its brakes and crashed some pedestrians and traders around the Suame Round-about, per an eyewitness account.
“It happened around 5:15 am. The car had loaded passengers from Atimatim New site and was heading towards Kejetia. When we got to Round-about, those of us who had to alight prompted the driver but then the car’s brakes failed. The driver then decided to save the situation by using the pavement but then the car was thrown into the area where traders are situated”, an eyewitness who was among the passengers in the car said.
Three persons were crashed by the car, Richmond Dankwa, the eyewitness said.
No casualty was recorded among passengers in the car.
The victims were rushed to the Tafo Government Hospital where one was pronounced dead on arrival.
The driver of the car was arrested by the Suame Police Station.
The car has also been impounded by the police, Kumaning reported.
