WHO: 2 African Countries Vaccinate Over 70% Of Population
The World Health Organisation (WHO) African Region has reported that two African countries have been able to vaccinate the majority of their population.
The countries are Mauritius and Seychelles.
The Organisation in a tweet relayed that more than 70% of their total population has been double vaxxed.
“Two #African countries, #Mauritius and #Seychelles have fully vaccinated more than 70% of their total population against #COVID19”, the WHO African Region tweeted.
The Director General of WHO International, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, at a recent presser said he foresees an end to the pandemic.
“We have never been in a better position to end the pandemic. We are not there yet but the end is in sight”, he said.
So far, records from WHO Africa say that 173,352 Africans have died of COVID.
The continent has 538,933 active case counts.
