We Need Help, We Are Forced To Share The Same Pads – Stranded Ghanaians in Dubai Cry Out

Several Ghanaian ladies who are currently being held in the immigration centre in Dubai are crying out for help from the government of Ghana.

These ladies lamented the ill-treatment meted out to them by the Ghanaian and United Arab Emirates consulate.

Info from an insider among the ladies who decided to be anonymous spoke with Ultimate FM in Kumasi.

“We herewith other nationals from Nigeria, Senegal, Gambia, the consulate is always here checking on them and supporting them,” she said.

‘‘They even sometimes come to sleep there making sure their citizens are ok’’

She said the consulate has left them to their faith, exposing them to harm.

“Any time, the staff at the Ghana consulate come, they shout at us in despicable ways. They tell us in the face, they didn’t bring us here, so any support coming from them is personal”.

‘‘They provided us the ladies here, hundreds of us a few sanitary pads, now we are sharing the pad, how can they be inhumane in this manner’’

‘‘Please, we need help, kindly tell our leaders, we are suffering, some of us are going crazy here, please tell the Foreign Affairs Minister and the President we are also Ghanaians and we need their assistance’’

There are 431 Ghanaians which includes males, females and children detained in Dubai at the Al Tawadi Medical Centre calling on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration to come to their aid.

A statement has been issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs saying the government will be collaborating with the authorities of the UAE to bring the stranded citizens back home.
