We Didn’t Bow To The GFA Demands-Jojo Duncan

The President of lower-tier side Proud United, Jojo Duncan, has refuted the claims that Division One Clubs have finally resolved to accept $7,000 as part of their share of FIFA COVID-19 Relief fund shared by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

According to the seasoned football administrator, they only put their collective proposal before the GFA President, Kurt Okraku and General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo, who were part of the virtual meeting.

The virtual meeting between the GFA and Division One League Clubs was necessitated following the dissatisfaction and disagreement of how the COVID-19 Relief Fund was shared amongst the stakeholders of the GFA by the Division Ones Clubs.

The relief fund has been set up by FIFA to alleviate some hardships on the various facets of the industry in the era of the pandemic.
But Premier and Division One League Clubs are uncomfortable how the GFA shared the money.

Addressing the issue after the virtual meeting on Opemsuo 104.7 FM evening sports show, Pramaso, Jojo Duncan disclosed that, “We could not agree with the Ghana Football Association about the earlier amount of $7,000 to us during the meeting. We only submitted our proposal to them, and we are awaiting to hear something worthwhile from GFA. It is untrue that we have accepted the earlier amount.”

He continued that they wanted one-on-one meeting with the GFA, but they declined though the meeting was successful.
“The meeting was successful though we earlier on wanted to meet them one-on-one to express our displeasure and how unfairly they are treating the Division One Clubs of which the GFA declined.”
