We can’t do High-Budget Music Videos like Wizkid – Kumerican Artiste

In a recent statement, Ghanaian hip-hop/Afro-pop artiste Phrimpong, shed light on the challenges faced by Kumerican artistes when it comes to producing high-quality music videos, comparing their limitations to the grandeur of videos by renowned artistes like Wizkid.

Phrimpong emphasized the crucial role that adequate funding plays in creating visually stunning music videos.

He explained that Kumerican artistes, unfortunately, lack the financial resources required to match the production value and scale of videos produced by globally recognized artistes like Wizkid.

“People should understand the reality we face. We don’t have the financial backing to create videos on the same level as Wizkid,” Phrimpong stated in an interview on Kumasefie with Mr Black on July 1.

“It takes a significant amount of funds to produce such visually captivating videos.”

Addressing comments suggesting that TikTok kills songs, he stated that while the platform may have its downsides, it also offers significant advantages.

Also in response to the notion that TikTok only uses specific portions of songs for trends, potentially overshadowing the full track, Phrimpong acknowledged this phenomenon but emphasized that it actually helps in making the song more popular.

“It’s true that certain parts of the song get more attention, and listeners might not explore the entire song. However, this exposure contributes to the song’s popularity,” he shared.

He also offered a valuable tip for fellow artistes, advising them to infuse the central message of their songs into the catchy chorus, as that’s what people are most likely to focus on and remember.

Phrimpong exclusively revealed that he has an upcoming EP in the works, set to drop before the year comes to an end.

With enthusiasm, he exclaimed, “This is the first place I am announcing this! I can’t wait to share my new project with everyone. I urge all my supporters to stand by me, just like they’ve always done.”
