We Are Fixing The Country, Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwah Claims
Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwah has stated that the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) being led by His. Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo is fixing the country.
What started as a social media campaign under #FixTheCountry is turning into a full-fledged movement propelled by predominantly young Ghanaians calling for better living conditions.
Social media users in Ghana are adhering to the hashtag #FixTheCountry in droves to pressure the government to improve its citizens’ lives. The social media initiative is starting to leave cyberspace and taking first steps in the analog world. Among the new movement’s demands are more jobs, no corruption, fewer taxes, and better education.
Reacting to the claims by a section of the agitated Youth on ‘Nkwantannanso’ morning show on Opemsuo104.7fm, the former lawmaker insisted that Ghana is in a competent hand and the NPP Government has the wherewithal to fix it.
“We are fixing the country and there is no doubt about it. The NPP Government has proven to be the better Managers if this country, and we are at it shaping the country to where we will appreciate.”
“Ghana is in a competent hand, and, I think, that is the reason this hashtag came about. They know we can do it.”
He used the opportunity to also admonished Ghanaian to change our attitudes towards the nation building.
“As a country, we need to re-orient ourselves to change our attitudes for us to contribute our quota towards Nation building. We mostly cause most of the problems, and if we can change, the country will be better.”
