‘We Are Disappointed’ – Kotoko Coach Mariano Barreto

Asante Kotoko gaffer Mariano Barreto has expressed that, he is disappointed in yesterday’s results against their bitterest rivals Hearts of Oak in match day 31 clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Porcupines were anticipating to overpower the Phobians to take the lead on the League but it ended otherwise.
A lone goal courtesy of Daniel Afriyie Barnieh in the second half was enough to silence Asante Kotoko in a tense match slimming Kotoko’s chance of winning the League.
It is the first time in 64 years, Hearts have beaten Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium on the last Sunday of the month.
Speaking at the post match presser, coach Mariano Barreto said they are disappointed in the results.
He, however, reckoned that the Porcupines deserve a point had Augustine Okrah utilised the opportunity that he got in the game.
“We have to accept the defeat, but we are disappointed because what we work for, what we put in the game and what the players did, in my opinion, we deserve other result.”
“We had the brightest chance in the game but Okrah squandered it, had he scored, we will be saying something different.”
Asante Kotoko will lock horns with King Faisal in the next fixture of the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupines are on the second position with 56 points on the League.
