WAEC Cancels Physics And Business Management Papers

The West African Examination Council-Ghana has cancelled and rescheduled sittings for Physics and Business Management over issues of leakage.
The papers were scheduled to take place today, however, the Head of Test Administration Division at WAEC, George Ohene Mantey said new dates for the papers will be communicated later.
“The office has rescheduled Physics 2 and 1, Business management 2 and 1 as originally scheduled on Wednesday 15th September 2021. A new date for the rescheduled papers will be communicated”, he said at a press conference.
According to him, measures are being put in place to curtail further leakages of examination questions internally.
“As a further step to safeguard the integrity of the examination, the council has put in place the following steps; strict up internal controls and compliance in the security regulations of the council and increase inspection- monitoring at the various centres.”
Additionally, schools such as Ejisu Senior High Technical School-Ejisu, Anlo SHS, Tepa SHS Yeji SHS, King David College at Somanya Ideal College- Sunyani, Christ the King SHS- Obuasi, Modern Senior SHS- Tong, Morden Senior High School-Kintampo and several others with examination malpractices tag will be monitored closely.
He noted that the council has recorded examination irregularities since the exam began.
”Inside examination hall malpractice as a result of poor invigilation and supervision, institutionalize examination malpractice that is the execution of both arranged plans to assist candidates by solving questions and distributing solutions to the candidates, smuggling of mobile phones into examination hall by candidates awaiting solutions from WhatsApp platforms”, are some of the recorded irregularities”, he listed out.
According to Ohene Mantey, checks by the Council have revealed that Mathematics Elective 2 and Section A of English Language 2 were also circulated before sittings.
