Traders In Kejatia Blame Gov’t For Low Patronage Of PPEs
Traders of Personal Protective Equipments, materials used to fight novel COVID-19 pandemic in Kumasi, are in grievous situation following low patronage of the materials.
The emergence of the deadly pandemic, though, perishing souls, has created job opportunities for those within the space of business.
Many businessmen/women have ventured into the manufacturing of sanitizers, nose masks, liquid soaps amongst others amidst the COVID-19 to utilize the positives of it.
Today’s investigations by Opemsuo 104.7 FM reporter, Adwoa Serwah, revealed that traders are complaining about the poor patronage of the masks due to Government’s failure to apply necessary sanctions to individuals who are reluctant to observe the safety protocols.
According to some traders, business is not booming like the early stages of the outbreak of Coronavirus disease in Ghana.
A seller of face shields, Aunty Rebecca, complained that business has gone down in spite of reducing prices of the PPEs-blaming the familiarity of the disease.
“Business is not flourishing like the early stages of the disease when people were not so much familiar despite reducing the prices”
Another woman who sells sanitizers and nose masks accused the Government about the failure to enforce the laws that will force people to observe the approved protocols.
“It is worrisome how people are consciously joking with their lives amidst the COVID-19 pandemic era. The truth is that people are not observing the laid down protocols, but I don’t blame them because the Government has failed woefully to enforce the appropriate laws that will force people to wear the nose masks and observe the other safety protocols,” said Madame Akosua Agyeiwaa.
The investigations extensively discovered that majority of the traders of Personal Protective Equipments are anticipating to quit if the situation remains unchanged.
