Rise Above Personal Interests And Differences- Bawumia To Delegates

The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has urged delegates to put the interest of the party ahead of their parochial interest and petty differences.

It comes ahead of the parliamentary primaries of the NPP on Saturday, January 27, 2024, across the country.

In a message left on his Facebook wall, the ViThe flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has urged delegates to put the interest of the party ahead of their parochial interest and petty differences.ce President implored delegates to elect suitable candidates who will facilitate the NPP’s victory in the December General Elections.

“The election of December 2024 is crucial for our party and nation. The NPP needs to come out of this process strengthened, united, and ready to deliver victory in 2024. Therefore, we must rise above personal interests and petty differences, and focus on the greater goal of advancing the principles and ideals of our great party, the New Patriotic Party.”

Meanwhile, aspirants have been encouraged to uphold fairness and peace in their elections.

“In the spirit of oneness, I extend my sincerest wishes of good fortune to all the aspirants who have put themselves forward for consideration. It takes hard work and sacrifice to make this journey, but it also requires a commitment to serving the people.

“I urge all aspirants to be guided by the principles underpinning our party’s democratic culture, the principles of freedom, fairness, and peace. We are all responsible for ensuring the integrity of our party’s electoral system and ensuring compliance with the decisions of the delegates of our party.”

He further entreated the 33 unopposed candidates to justify their confidence by working with all stakeholders to deliver their constituencies in the presidential and parliamentary polls.

Tomorrow, 325 parliamentary aspirants will go to the polls to elect candidates in constituencies where the party has sitting Members of Parliament (MPs).

Orphan constituencies have already undergone the process.
