The Australian High Commissioner Threatened Me- Sam George, MP

Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam Nartey George has revealed the Australian High Commissioner threatened him over the Private Members Bill he presented together with other stakeholders to Parliament.
The Private Member Bill seeks to outlaw the practice of homosexuality in Ghana completely.
Honourable Sam George said he received the threat at the Accra Sports Stadium after Sunday’s football match between Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
In an interview with a radio station he said, “I have received all kinds of threats even from the Australian High Commissioner.”
According to him, the Australian High Commissioner threatened to have him arrested if he travels outside Ghana.
“After the game, trying to be a gentleman i decided to say ‘hello’ to him and his response to me was to issue a threat. “
He however believes it is a statement of his (Australian High Commissioner) imagination because he (Australian High Commissioner) doesn’t have the capacity to execute it.
“Why should I waste my time on a threat he doesn’t have the capacity to execute. He is threatening me with arrest in the US, Canada and UK and not Australia. That is why I said he has a twisted mind”, he explained.
