STAY AWAY FROM UNIVERSITY LANDS OR FACE MY WRATH -OTUMFUO

Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has cationed encroachers to stay away from the lands of Kwame Nkrumah University(KNUST).
 
The level of encroachment is at its peak currently of which he condemns.He warned that they set boundaries because he is the owner of lands and the rightful person to apportion parts to anyone.
 
He emphasised that there is no issue of family lands in Kumasi therefore the illegality must cease because he will not allow encroachment under his watch as Asantehene and chancellor of KNUST.
 
“…encroachment of university lands, I condemn it and strongly send a note of caution to all those involved to desist from it or face my wrath “
“Lands are mine and there’s no family land here in Ashanti, no abusuapanyin can claim that a land belong to him and therefore can and you can go to any court take it there and I’m sure also there will be a judge to know that the constitution and constitution of Ashanti says that there’s no family land in Ashanti.”
 
Speaking at the launch of KNUST’s 70th anniversary on the theme: “70 years of global impact, a new age for a renewed focus”, Otumfuo called for the appreciation of the role played by the school charging student and staff to work hard so that the vision of the school will be brought into reality.
 
As part of activities to mark the inauguration the vice chancellor, Rita Akosua Dickson joined the chancellor in commissioning several projects including the College of Health Sciences Unit which consist of the School of Nursing,Faculty of Allied Sciences,College Libraries,Library Complex amongst others.
 
The statue of Dr Ephraim Amu ,the 70th anniversary 3D loggo amongst other projects were all commissioned and unveiled by Asantehene to mark the ceremony.
The Education Minister, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum amongst other dignitaries were there to witness the launch.
