Short Code To Check Linked SIMs To Ghana Card Now Active

Ghanaians can now verify the number of SIM cards linked to their Ghana cards using a short code released by the National Communication Authority (NCA).

The uniform code can be accessed across all networks from today, May 1, 2023.

Subscribers can dial *402*1# and proceed by following the instructions.

Individual subscribers who detect anomalies through the process will have the opportunity to rectify them by visiting their Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) or customer care centres.

“Please note that your Service Provider will conduct a full Know Your Customer (KYC) before a delinking will be effected,” the Authority has said.

This is meant to deal with complaints by some subscribers whose Ghana cards have been linked to SIM cards unknown to them.

For business SIMs, the NCA says a Webpage with a security login will be released for their verification by Service Providers.

This, the Ministry of Information explains, is because some businesses have over 200 numbers and text messages cannot show all.

Verification Process

1. Dial *402*1#

2. Enter your card PIN (Enter numbers and letters without hyphens)

3. Enter your date of birth (DD/MM/YYYY)

4. Once verified you will receive an SMS with a list of mobile numbers linked to your Ghana card including corresponding networks.
