Residents of Bampenase laments over poor road, suitable bridge and dumping site.

Residents of Fawoade Bampenase electoral area are calling on government to come to their aid in the construction of speed ramps on their road as well as several other relevant facilities in their constituency.
In an interview with Opemsuo radio’s Kwame Adu Gyamfi on Me Mpotam Nsem, residents recounted how the absence of speed ramps on the road is causing an alarming rate of accidents and injuries on that stretch of the road.
“Though the road has been constructed, it is not effective. I can count about three or four cars which have run into shops since it’s construction.
“The government should make road ramps to minimize speed on the road. We haven’t recorded any death but the rate at which we are recording accidents is dire”, a resident said.
On the issue of a bridge, they noted that they use a makeshift bridge which is often washed away whenever it rains.

“We have written a lot of letters to notify the relevant authorities but nothing has been done about it. All they do is come and inspect and then go back. We are fed up, they should help us.
A lot of people use this bridge. There is flooding whenever it rains. The makeshift bridges are washed away when it rains and so it affects Sunday services and education whenever it rains on Saturdays and Sundays respectively”, a resident noted.
He also added, “I can say that Maame Serwaa hasn’t done anything in this constituency. We are deprived development, look at our refuse dump. It has been there for ages. It is even older than I am.”
Bempenase is in the Kwabre East constituency in the Ashanti region of Ghana.
