Refuse Passage To People Without Masks –Ashanti Minister

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Simon Osei Mensah has directed district chief executives and the Police to ensure that persons in the Region comply with the COVID-19 directives.
At a press briefing, Mr. Osei Mensah said the Region had 87 active cases in April, 2021 with 216 deaths; however, the Region currently has 1,253 active cases.
According to the Minister, the only way to save the situation is to comply with mask-wearing and hand washing directive.
“District Chief Executives and the security in all districts should take note of these: the face mask protocol is adhered, Veronica buckets, liquid soaps and sanitizers should be placed at markets, transport stations and places where there are a lot of people to wash their hands.”
He announced that officers had been instructed to disembark passengers in masks who fail to advise others to do same as their punishment.
“‘Trotro’ conductors should ensure that all passengers are in their masks. Passengers should also ensure that all people in the vehicle have masks on and request that those without it get it”, he advised.
