Kennedy Agyapong Picks Slot 1 For Nov 4 Ballot

The Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Agyapong has picked the first slot on the ballot of the New Patriotic Party’s November 4 presidential primary.

This followed a balloting on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, by the party’s Elections Committee and officials from the Electoral Commission of Ghana.

The second place was picked by Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, followed by Owusu Afriyie Akoto and then Francis Addai-Nimoh.

Ahead of the Super Delegates Conference when Kennedy picked the first slot in July, he said it was the first step towards his vision of becoming President in a post on X formerly Twitter.

He is yet to comment on the development.

In a statement, the NPP said it had a “productive interactive session” with the four contestants on the party’s presidential primaries alongside the balloting.

“The contestants and the Elections Committee reached a consensus on the modalities for the conduct of the November 4 election.”

The November 4 election will culminate the Presidential Primaries of the NPP. Initially contested by ten, they were trimmed to five after the Super Delegates Conference on August 26, 2023.

The race has also seen Alan Kyerematen withdrawing and leaving only four candidates on the ballot.
