Factual: Ghana Has The ‘Most Credible’ Voters Register – NPP
Claims by President Akufo-Addo that the just-ended voters register compilation by the
Electoral Commission (EC) is a credible undeniable fact, Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Yaw Buaben Asamoah has revealed.
“If you compare and contrast what EC have been doing overtime, one will understand that the current register is credible than previous ones”, Mr. Buaben Asamoah disclosed on Opemsuo FM.
The President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has described the whole registration exercise as “very remarkable” and praised the ability of Ghanaians to conduct an exercise such as the compilation of a new voters’ register for a general election in times of crisis such as the COVID-19 outbreak.
“Though that is relative on the side of the President but everyone in Ghana will attest that the exercise was peaceful ever in our history”, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Adenta Constituency stressed during a telephone conversation with host, George Opoku Mensah.
During the recent State of the Nation address by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, he congratulated the Electoral Commission for a sterling performance. “The Electoral Commission has completed the successful compilation of a new register ahead of the conduct of the 2020 general election, in December. On behalf of the people of Ghana, I congratulate warmly, the Chairperson of the
Electoral Commission, Mrs. Jean Mensa, her two deputies, Dr. Eric Bossman Asare and Mr. Samuel Tetteh and the entire Commission for the efficient, safe and transparent nature of the registration exercise”, he said.
