Police: Accra-Achimota Highway Opened

The Ghana Police Service has announced the reopening of the Accra-Achimota Highway after a reported gas leakage at Tesano.

The gas leakage incident at Tesano compelled authorities to block the road to drivers on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

The leakage was from a gas filling station opposite the National Police Training School (NPTS), Tesano, the police said in a notice on Wednesday.

Traffic on the Accra-Achimota Highway was therefore diverted from Avenor through to the Industrial Area while the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and Police personnel moved to the scene to manage the situation.

But in an update, the police said, the situation has been controlled.

“The situation has been normalised and the road has since been opened to normal traffic flow”, the police said.
