Otumfuo Holds 23rd Anniversary Thanksgiving At St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church

The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has celebrated his twenty-third (23rd) year anniversary as “Asantehene” and the 16th Occupant of the Golden Stool today.

In view of this, a thanksgiving service was held at St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church in Fante New Town, Kumasi earlier today to thank God for the life of the King and for the immeasurable achievements he has accomplished throughout his reign to the Kingdom and the entire country.

Notable among Otumfuo’s many achievements include the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation which seeks to solve problems in five thematic areas in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); Education, Health, Sanitation, Clean Water, and Entrepreneurship.

The Otumfuo Education Fund, Otumfuo Community Reading Challenge, Otumfuo Mobile Learning projects, Otumfuo Mobile Dental Projects, Otumfuo Teachers Awards, etc. His phenomenal intervention in Ghana’s political dispensation and cultural preservation are among the many achievements done by the Asantehene.

Some chiefs present at the church service included; Daasebre Osei Bonsu, Mamponhene, Barimah Sarfo Tweneboah Kodua, Kumawuhene, Baffuo Owusu Amankwatia, Bantamahene, Oheneba Adusi Poku, Otumfuo Akyempemhene.

Others included: Bompatahene, Adankranyahene, Yamfohene, Kenyasi no.1 hene, Atwimahene, Mamsenhene, Otumfuo Akyeamehene, Baffuo Nsuase Poku among the lot.

Some Queenmothers who attended the service included; Mamponhemaa, Kokofuhemaa, Agonahemaa, Ejisuhemaa, Bechemhemaa, Denyasihemaa, Kwabre Kenyasihemaa etc.

The Asante Monarch born as Barimah Kwaku Duah swore the oath of allegiance to the Golden Stool and Asanteman twenty-three years ago – with the stool name Osei Tutu II.
