OSP Reassures Ghanaian With Lost Hope In The Office
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has replied to a comment from a Ghanaian who seems to have lost hope in the office that was established in 2018 to fight against corruption and corruption-related issues.
The Twitter user with the name Bra Kendrick commented on a statement from the OSP about the dismissal of a freezing application by the Accra High court and the Office’s decision to appeal the decision.
Kendrick in his comment compared and contrasted the works of the first Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu and the current Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng and concluded with the message that his hope in the office at delivering on its mandate had drained.
“The difference between this current OSP and the former is that Martin Amidu was barking using PEN and paper but this current one barks on Twitter. No action. I was once a strong advocate for the OSP thinking it might do something against corruption but I currently feel…..”, Bra Kendrick tweeted in the comments section.
He made the tweet a day after the OSP’s post.
Nine minutes later, the OSP replied to Kendrick.
The office, in a few words, touted its achievements so far in the wave of the challenges it faces and urged the citizen to support it in any way he can.
“Hello Bra, this Office is doing its best even as it’s sets up and push for resources and staff. We have three cases before the High Court. We working on over 40 actives cases and we have made recoveries. With more& time, we will do more. Please support anyway you can-thanks.”
