Ogum Resumes Work after 5 Weeks

The head coach of the Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has returned to work with the team after five weeks of absence following surgery.

He made his first appearance since the end of the 2023/2024 season on Thursday, August 1, 2024, during the team’s training at the Adako Jachie training ground.

He met both old and new players who had already assembled with the technical team for the training.

In welcoming their coach, the team popped champagne and presented him with a gift. Presenting the undisclosed gift, the Captain, Federick Asare expressed their joy at welcoming them.

“This morning we are very happy to have you here. It’s been a tough journey for you and your family. Though we were not with you, spiritually we were with you. Today we all here are very pleased to have you.”

Receiving it, Coach Ogum expressed his appreciation to the team for their care and support.

“I’m also grateful for this gift. I least expected it. It’s a sign of love and it’s a sign of unity and a sign of understanding among us.”

Speaking about his surgery, he said, “Thank you so much. It’s been a while and I’ve really missed each one of you here. As your captain said, it has not been an easy of-season for me looking at the surgery I did. The pain wasn’t easy but by the grace of God, I have been able to bounce back so first of all, I would like to thank the Almighty for a successful surgery and to thank all of you for your prayers, support and everything you have been doing behind the scenes to facilitate my recovery. I’m so grateful.”
