Obama On The Essence Of COVID Relief Bill

Former president Barack Obama has congratulated both Americans and President Joe Biden on the passage of COVID relief bill by the House of Senates on Saturday 6th March, 2021.

The COVID relief bill passed by the Senate is a 1.1 trillion United States dollars relief package meant to alleviate the impact of the Coronavirus Pandemic on the US economy.

“The far-reaching legislation includes $1,400 stimulus checks, $300-per-week jobless benefits through the summer, a child allowance of up to $3,600 for one year, $350 billion for state aid, $34 billion to expand Affordable Care Act subsidies and $14 billion for vaccine distribution.”, NBC news published.

Although the bill is yet to receive it’s final judgement on Tuesday where the house will vote for or against, the former president tweeted, “Elections matter—and we’re seeing why. Congratulations to the Biden Administration and to the American people on a COVID relief bill that will improve the lives of families across the country.”

“This landmark legislation will help families pay rent and put food on the table, lift millions of children out of poverty, make health care more affordable, aid small businesses, fund broad-based vaccination efforts, and make it easier for states to reopen schools.” Obama tweeted
