Madam Pearl Adusi Gyasi has stated that the duty bearer institution responsible for ensuring that road safety structures are put across on the road has been irresponsible as far as the Islamic SHS incident is concerned.
The duty bearer institution in this regard is the Urban Roads which is to ensure that road safety furniture are built on the road to reduce the threats exposed to road users.
Speaking on Opemsuo Radio’s Nkwantananso show with the substitute host Kwabena Kyeremateng Addo, Madam Pearl Adusi said, the location of the Islamic SHS is an accident-prone area which road safety furniture must be built to communicate between the driver and the pedestrian such as Traffic light, speed ramp, zebra crossing, and lollipop stand.
The NRSA Communication Head stated that it is also the responsibility of engineers to figure out areas closer to human settlements such as schools, markets, and others must bear speed ramps to secure the safety of the road.
