NPP’s regional organiser assaults Daily Guide Journalist

The Eastern Regional Correspondent for Daily Guide, Daniel Bampoe, has become the latest journalist to be attacked by a politician after he was attacked and slapped by the Eastern Regional Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, Kwame Appiah Kodua.
The impact of the slap sent the Journalist into a state of confusion hence started wandering and whining in embarrassment and shock.
The attack happened during the Eastern Regional Annual Delegates Conference of the party held at Kyebi on Sunday, October 17, 2021.
Starr News has gathered that the Journalist sneaked into the conference room where the participants of the delegates conference and the party executives were having an indoor meeting session to discuss internal party matters.
The Eastern Regional Organizer who doubles as the Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) spotted the Journalist, raged and accosted him for allegedly recording the misunderstanding that had ensued in the meeting, even though the Journalist denied the allegation.
The Journalist explained that he entered to sit close to the entrance to seek shelter since it was raining heavily.
Mr. Kodua who was not satisfied with the explanation ordered the party security to seize his mobile phones and throw him out. He, however, followed the Journalist to slap him despite knowing him personally as part of Journalists who have been covering events for the party in the region for years.
The Eastern Regional Minister Seth Kwame Acheampong quickly rushed to the rescue of the Journalist and ordered that his mobile phones be given back to him.
The Minister described it as unfortunate and unreservedly apologized to the Journalist and assured him that he will handle the issue.
Daniel Bampoe has reported the incident to the Eastern Regional Chairman of Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Maxwell Kudekor, who was also at the conference.
Kwame Appiah Kodua is known for his hot temperament, a weakness that has affected his political career and his position as regional Organizer.
Sensing defeat, he has announced not to seek reelection rather eyeing to become a Parliamentary candidate for the NPP in Fanteakwa North but seems to be already facing stiff protest by the youth in the Constituency against his intention.
