NPA Fines 9 Petroleum Service Providers

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has fined nine Petroleum Service Providers (PSPs) for engaging in third-party trading and illicit liftings.

The companies include Bello Petroleum, Jas Petroleum, Oval Petroleum, Kros Energy, Safety Petroleum, Santol Energy, Riseglobe Petroleum, Sayon Energy and Cigo Energy.

Except for Cigo Energy, all are first-time offenders.

As a sanction, Bello Petroleum is expected to pay a fine of GHC120,000; Jas Petroleum will pay 65,000, Oval Energy will pay GHC245,000 and Kros Energy will pay GHC295,000.

Safety Petroleum will pay 200,000, whereas Santol Energy will pay GHc75,000.

Riseglobe Energy will pay GHc65,000, Sayon Energy will pay GHC425,000, and Cigo who is a second-time offender will pay GHC725,000.

The sanctions emanated from their engagement in third-party trading and illicit lifting of petroleum.

The NPA warned that failure to pay the fine will attract a month’s suspension of operation.

In May 2022, the NPA fined seven PSPs for similar offences.

The seven are Moari Oil Company Limited, Rodo Oil Company Limited, MBA Global Limited, Cigo Energy Limited, Torrid Global Limited, Nadif Company Limited, and GAT Oil.
