NLC Invites Gov’t & UTAG For Resolution

The National Labour Commission (NLC) has invited the government of Ghana and the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) for a resolution to the impasse between the two.

This follows an order of the court to the NLC and the UTAG to try out an out-of-court resolution to the strike when the NLC dragged the UTAG to court to secure an interlocutory injunction that will compel the latter to end its strike and return to the classroom.

The meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.

Reports indicate that the UTAG will convene a meeting today February 4, 2022 to decide on whether to honour the invitation of the NLC or not.

The UTAG is on an indefinite strike demanding better conditions of service.
