NHIA Releases ¢151M to Settle Claims
The National Insurance Authority (NHIA) has released an amount of Gh¢151 million to settle claims owed healthcare providers in the country.
It comes after payment of a total of GHC135.6 million covering March 2024 for the majority of clients at the lower tier facilities and outstanding claims of February 2024 for the higher tier healthcare providers.
This month’s release covers outstanding claims of up to March 2024 for higher tier health providers and April 2024 for majority of clients at the lower tier facilities.
“The disbursement is part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of healthcare delivery under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS),” it stated in a press release announcing the disbursement.
It continued, “The NHIA recognises the critical role that healthcare providers play in the success of the NHIS and is dedicated to maintaining a robust partnership with facilities.”
It also expressed its gratitude to the providers for their dedication to the scheme.
