Otumfuo Community Reading Challenge: Over Seven Thousand Children Register For The Epic Competition

Seven thousand five-hundred and ninety-one (7,591) children have registered thus far to take part in the Otumfuo Community Reading Challenge.

The reading challenge is one of the appropriate platform being put in place by Otumfuo Charity Foundation for children to learn aside the normal instructional hours in schools.

The systematic and conscious measures being put in place stem from the fact that reading plays a major role in education.

Students who are able to read and comprehend the text they have read mostly perform well during examination.

And child’s reading skills are important to their success in school as they will allow them to access the breadth of the curriculum and improve their communication and language skills. In addition, reading can be a fun and imaginative time for children, which opens doors to all kinds of new worlds for them. 

Otumfuo Charity Foundation throughout the COVID-19 period have played a pivotal role to provide a unique platform for students to learn whilst at home.

Apart from the reading challenge, the Charity Foundation has already organised ICT Classes for students within the Kumasi Metropolis with no cost.

Otumfuo Community Reading Challenge is set to start in January 2020 and over Sixty Communities will be participating.
