President of the Republic, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has by Executive Instrument pronounced Monday, 3rd May, 2021, a public holiday.
As yearly observed, May 1st which is known as May Day or Workers’ Day is observed as a public holiday.
This year’s commemoration will fall on Saturday which tends to be a weekend.
In respect to this, the President has pronounced Monday, May 3 as an additional holiday.
A press release signed by Mr. Ambrose Dery, Minister for Interior said, “in view of the fact that 1st May falls on a Saturday, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana has by Executive Instrument (EI) in accordance with section 2 of Public Holiday and Commemorative Day’s Act (Act 601) declared 3rd May, 2021 as an additional holiday.”
