Blame Anas For Bad Officiating- Eric Alagidede

Former Business and Communications Manager of Karela United, Eric Alagidede, has opened a can of worms on ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas about the recent outrageous performance of Ghana Premier League referees.

There have been enormous complaints about poor officiating as the league is nearing to its end, and a lot of people have attributed it to other factors.

But the young brainy football administrator believes that officiating has reduced drastically to the lowest level following Anas exposé on football dubbed: Number 12.

According to Eric Alagidede, the Anas exposè took away all the experienced referees in the system and that has contributed to what we see.

“Anas should be blamed for the bad officiating happening in the League because his exposé took away the experienced referees we have in the system,” said Eric Alagidede in an interview with Opemsuo Radio 104.7 evening sports show.

He reckoned that it will take the new young referees not less than two years to be able to give us quality refereeing.

“It will take the young referees the next two years to reach the height of the experienced referees who were captured in Anas’s exposé to give us anything quality.”

Highly experienced referees in the shape of David Laryea, Reginald Lathbridge, Safo Adade, Samuel Sukah, Dally Gagba, Furella Bamie, Charles Dowuona and Umar Teni were given life ban.

While other 53 referees S. A. Quaye, Joseph Wellington, Daniel Dogbetor, Eric Nantierre, Cecil Fleischer, Dawood Ouedraogo, Salifu Malik,Theresa Akongyam, Prosper Adii, Issaka Ayensu Afful, Nathan Anafo, Badiu Ibrahim, Mclord Arhin, Otis Oppong, Salifu Rahman, Samuel Opoku Boateng, Yaw Ametepey, Justice Adu Poku, Kennedy Bentil, Leanier Addy, Nii Kotey Kotei, Philip Darku, Prince Amoah, Richlove Awuah, S.
