NDC, NPP welcome Otumfuo’s Call; promise decent campaigning


 
 
The two main leading political parties in Ghana; the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) have agreed to run insult free campaign ahead of the upcoming December 7 polls.
Ashanti Regional Secretary of NDC, Mr. Kwame Zu has welcomed admonition from the overlord of the Asante Kingdom, His Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II , that politicians should run their campaign ahead of this year’s crucial elections without insulting their opponents.
Speaking through his Linguist at Manhyia Palace, the revered King cautioned the 2020 flag-bearer of NDC, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and his running-mate, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang against the use of vulgar languages in their politicking.
However, the Ashanti Regional Secretary of NPP, Mr. Sam Pyne on Opemsuo FM has also welcomed Otumfuo Osei Tutu II humble appeal to all politicians in the country.
“I agree with Otumfuo 100%. I have always asked my party communicators to also desist from hate speech on radio, television and all platforms”, Mr. Pyne told host of Nkwantananso morning show, George Opoku Mensah Agudey on telephone.
