NABCO Trainees Opt For Court Action To Demand Allowance From Gov’t

The beneficiaries of the Nation Builders Corps (NABC) have decided to use court action to get the government to cough out their unpaid allowances.

The new option comes after several actions failed in getting the government to pay them.

The convenor for the Concerned Nation Builders Corps Trainees, Nana Barimah reportedly said his outfit anticipates foul play and neglect of payment on the part of the government.

He is quoted by Citi news to have said, “We have given the government a one-month window. If September ends, and we are not paid, we don’t have any other option than to drag government to court.”

The trainees say the government owes them ten months in arrears.

On August 18, 2022, the Coalition of NABCO trainees embarked on a demonstration after calls on the government to pay their allowances failed.

The group vowed to stage another protest at the Jubilee House after seven days if nothing is heard from the government, however, that plan never saw the day when the deadline elapsed.

The trainees exited the programme on September 1, 2022.
