My Government Wants More Youth To Have Tertiary Education – Nana Akufo-Addo

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo speaking on Opemsuo 104.7 FM in a one-on-one interview with the host of Nkwantananso show, Agudey, outlined various strategies and plans for the education system in the country.

He was asked a question on education and the free senior high school policy. He answered by stressing that “this year, it’s only the SHS 2 who will continue with the double track system. The SHS 1 and 3 will be going to school regularly as it used to be.”

“The new idea is that by the time the SHS 3 are out of school, they will be going on normal bases. Thats the first thing.”

“The second is we are looking at is how the universities and colleges are going to admit them when they are out of school. That’s why we brought in programmes like student loans and assistance. That every single student is eligible without any guarantor but with your student card.

He finally said “we want as many of our youth to go to university to create a new workforce in Ghana. And this workforce will help in the development of the country.”
