Musician Apologises For Saying “Ga Women Like Begging”
An Accra-based musician, Nii Funny has apologised for reportedly saying “Ga women like begging”.
His statement was made during an interview while he explained why he chose to marry a foreigner instead of his fellow Ga woman.
But after a public backlash for the statement, the musician released a press statement apologising.
As part of his apology, he said his submissions were “about his sad experience with few Ga girls” however, “news headlines generalised his comment to mean an attack on all Ga women”.
“I am sorry for the impression created. That was not the import of my message in the context I spoke about my sad experiences.
“I am sorry for any impression of disrespect, disregard and disdain whatsoever from me”.
